Since July 2026 a research programme has worked through the written record of Island House, from medieval rolls to Victorian newspapers, checking each fact against its source. The results are on a new Timeline page.

It runs from a yearly fair granted to Guy de Brian in 1247, through the burgages below the town gate in 1592, to the roof oak felled in the winter of 1656/57, which dates the house we see to the 1650s.

A new Team page lists the people, consultants and authorities who have worked on the house since 2020, checked by Carl Thornton.
